阿尔法赫迪历史区的故事，始于19世纪90年代。这里最兴盛时拥有60个住宅单元，大多被狭窄而曲折的小巷分隔。它主要由被迪拜贸易机会与政府激励吸引而来的富裕波斯商人建造，名称则取自伊朗南部的巴斯塔克镇。街巷与房屋因此不仅构成了一个居住地，也留下了迪拜早期贸易社会的空间印记。原文称：“The construction of Al Bastakiya dates back to the 1890s.”又说：“The town of Al Bastakiya was primarily built by the affluent Persian Merchants drawn to Dubai by the rich trade opportunities and incentives offered by the Emirati government.”
