贝洛莫宫博物馆诞生在一座层层叠叠的宫殿里。宫殿的源头可追溯至12世纪霍亨斯陶芬统治西西里时期，主立面、地下室和一楼至今仍大体保留着那个时代的面貌。14世纪它经历改建，15世纪又在贝洛莫家族名下扩建，并留下门廊、窗户和楼梯上的加泰罗尼亚哥特式痕迹——那时西西里属于阿拉贡王冠。引句：“The origins of the palace have been traced to the 12th century, the time of Hohenstaufen rule of Sicily.”；“From this period, a number of details such as portals, mullioned windows and the staircase display influences from Catalan Gothic”
